Orchestral variations on a Mayan tune. Commissioned by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and premiered jointly with Los Folkloristas on April 7-8, 2000 under the baton of William Eddins. Subsequently performed by the Orquesta Filarmónica de la Ciudad de México on September 16-17, 2000, Carlos Miguel Prieto, conductor.
